Ben Burdick

Charles and Joanne Burdick met at the Art Students League in New York City, where they married and had three children.  They spent their summers on Cape Cod, joining the art community in  Provincetown.  After undertaking an extraordinary year’s tour of  the museums of Europe, the family moved to the Cape in 1966 and opened a  gallery on Main Street in Wellfleet.  From the late sixties to the mid-eighties the gallery was in the barn of their historic house at Hinckley’s Corners , off  Route Six in South Wellfleet.  During this time Charles was a founding member of the  Wellfleet  Art  Gallery Association, when Wellfleet became The Art Gallery Town.

In 2006 the Burdick Art Gallery returned to the center of town. The gallery is now located at 25 Bank Street, in the Bank Square carriage house, lately purchased and renovated by Kate Burdick Barnholtz.

The Burdicks are proud to be a part of the historic art community of Wellfleet. They look forward to this season and many more to come.
