Charles Burdick was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. After returning from the Pacific during WWII, he attended the Rhode Island School of Design and the Art Students League of New York, where he studied with Reginald Marsh, Edwin Dickinson and Will Barnett.
During his long career he has won many honors and has exhibited in many one-man and group shows, including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Smithsonian Institute, the Philadelphia Museum and the Provincetown Art Museum. He will be having another one man show, “Artist at Work: The Paintings of Charles Burdick” at the Cahoon Museum of American Art in Oct. 2007. |
